Marianne McGregor is a vibrant and exciting young jazz singer based in Scotland. Taking great strides with her original music, Marianne has a huge body of material released and already has some touring and international performances under her belt. Highly acclaimed in the UK, Marianne has been awarded 'Rising Star' and ‘Best Vocalist’ at the Scottish Jazz Awards and the 'Danny Kyle Award' at Celtic Connections. Along with those accolades Marianne was also chosen to represent UK Jazz as a guest of the British Embassy in Havana, Cuba where she performed to a very appreciative sell-out audience. This young singer takes huge risks with her vocal delivery and raw songwriting, sitting comfortably among the jazz greats in both style and substance. Taking inspiration from her great jazz influencers, Marianne has a tone comparable to the likes of Amy Winehouse or Sarah Vaughan, an Ella-like freedom towards improvisation and captures phrasing and emotion with the power of Billie Holiday.
